Description
The scotometer was introduced in the first decade of the last century by Sir Richard Cruise, an eminent British ophthalmologist, who, among his other honors was eye doctor to George V and Queen Mary from 1918 to 1936. Scotometers are used for detecting blind spots in the visual field. Dixey is a 200-year-old London optical firm that now only sells spectacles but early in the last century they manufactured instruments as well. The scotometer is not ivory but rather “Ivorine ” (aka : “French Ivory”), a type of celluloid. It is in excellent cosmetic and working condition. $395.00.
