Description

For Your Walking Stick or Cane, German, c. 1900, comprising two quite portable lenses set in tin mounts, contained in the original 3-1/2″ x 5″ (9 x 13 cm) card box with instructions. Each lens holder is designed to clamp onto one¹s walking-stick, thus forming an impressive Galilean telescope with a 2″ diameter objective and focal length of approximately 20″. It functions well, and is in good condition, the box rough. (Featured in “Wondrous Devices” exhibition, Hudson River Museum, 2018)
