Description
A good marine single draw telescope, signed around the draw tube, ‘Wellington, Crown Court, Soho, London’, measuring 35.25″ fully drawn and 20″ closed with an objective lens of 1.5″.
It has a mahogany barrel and is complete with eye piece dust slider and lens cap. It gives a fine, clear image when viewed through. There are a couple of tiny dimples to the draw tube.
Alexander Wellington worked from 1784 – 1812. His wife Mary and Son ran the business from 1813 – 15 with Mary going it alone from 1816 – 1827.
