Description
Antique Microscope by William Duncan. C. 1840’s. This microscope has no case or accessories other than what is on the microscope itself. Base is signed:” Wm Duncan Optician 92 Union St Aberdeen”. No stage clips nor stage glass are on this microscope. Bulls eye condenser is mounted on an articulated arm that also rotates around the pillar. Condenser is in very good condition while the double-sided substage mirrors are in only fair condition. The coarse focusing works well as does the forward and backward movement of the body tube. A screw is missing that attaches the pillar to the limb that has the focusing rack, substage mirror, etc… As a result, the rack is a little wobbly inside the limb. The microscope stands 15” tall at minimum height.
