Description
SOLD – A good 7 draw brass telescope measuring 13 cms long and 60 cms when fully drawn. It has a 35 mm doublet main lens; the rear lens has a small oyster chip which is not very noticeable. It can just be seen on picture 3 at the 8 o’clock postion. The barrel has a covering of baleen and the first draw is engraved, ‘MILLS (maker). 49 Southampton St., Pentonville, London’. He worked from this address from 1839 – 1849. The first draw is also engraved with original owners name, ‘Mr Josiah Mortyn’.
There are no dents and the telescope operates exceptionally well and gives excellent, clear views.
