Description

R&J Beck Microscope C. 1883.  There is no case or accessories other than what is mounted on the microscope.   The following inscription is located on one of the feet: “R&J Beck London 12596”.  This serial number places the manufacture date at about 1883-1884.   A rotating nosepiece contains 2 objectives, with one marked 1 IN R&J Beck and the other one marked 1/6 in 0.S7 N.A.   One of the coarse focusing adjustment knobs appears wallowed out and slides off the shaft without being able to move the body tube up and down.   The other adjustment wheel works smoothly as it should and does not come off the shaft.   The fine focusing works well.  The double-sided mirrors are in good condition.  Microscope stands 11.75” (29.8 cm) tall at minimum height.
