Description

Rare, signed Smith, Beck & Beck Universal Microscope with case.  Spring loaded eyepieces (3) and objectives (3). No issues in rotating the eyepieces or objective components. Also, there is a stage mounted condenser and a substage rotating aperture wheel.  The mirror is double sided and both sides are in good condition.  The microscope has S/N 2991 which places the production at 1862.  The company Smith, Beck & Beck existed from 1857-1865.  Case is in good condition except for crack that runs the height of the case that can be seen in one of the images.  Case has lock but no key.  Case dimensions are 6 ¼ inches x 6 ¾ inches x 12 ½ inches tall.  Microscope stands about 11 ½ inches tall.
