Description
SOLD – Three draw brass telescope with a mahogany barrel, signed on the first draw, ‘RAMSDEN. Picadilly, London’.
It measures 7.75″ closed and 22.5″ fully open with a crown / flint objective lens of 1.25″.
There are no cracks or splits, no dents. The draws pull nice and smoothly. All screws are present to the collars. Damage free lenses.
It gives an excellent, clear image when viewing.
Quite rare to have the ‘Picadilly’ address seen within the signature.
Jesse Ramsden moved to 199 Picadilly in 1773.
