Description

A fine 6 inch copper and mercury thermometer by Negretti and Zambra c. 1930. Used to gap rails according to ambient temperature during installation, this highly conductive device measures in degrees Fahrenheit and measures expansion from 0 to 3/8 inches. Fine overall condition noting one knock near the top right. British Railways issue. Case measures 15.5 x 5.5 x 2.5 cm.
