Description

Set of colored circles or rounds, printed in chromolithography and by a technique similar to stencil, used with the spinning top invented and patented by Laurent-Marie-René Péan in 1873, called La Ravissante. This new spinning top allowed, according to its inventor, to obtain “all the colors and shades imaginable”.

The two chromatic circles and the circles with a black background of various shapes and sizes constitute a complete and homogeneous set. They are explicitly described and illustrated by Péan in his patent of June 19, 1873 (see the last photo) and form, with the spinning top itself and not present here, an integral part of the invention and the patent.

They are accompanied by 10 other circles of various colored shapes.

The set is therefore composed of:

-Two chromatic circles;

-Five black backgrounds;

-Ten circles of various shapes and colors.

The circles measure 13.2 cm in diameter.

Good general condition, despite traces of uses.
