Description
An old walking stick made of ebony with an ivory handle and fine silver decoration to the handle ends and stem with a silver plaque which reads, ‘Presented to Thomas Hudson Esq as a mark of respect and esteem from THE PLYMOUTH PILOTS on the occasion of his retiring from the office of Sub Commissioner of Pilotage. 15th march 1898’. The handle ends have the entwined initials ‘T H’ on one end and a shield on the other with 4 engraved ships and the words, ‘Trinitas in Unitate’ (translated from Latin: ‘Trinity in Unity’). 90 cms long.
No cracks or damage.
