Powell & Lealand, No 1. with Wenham binocular eyepieces C1865. Microscope does not have a case and the only accessories are what is mounted on the microscope, such as stage mounted forceps, swinging/pivoting objective mount with two objectives. The stage is a Turrell with hand, not mechanical, rotation. Under the stage is a complete condenser set with X-Y movement and rotating knob. It stands 20” (50.8 cm) tall. The articulating substage double sided mirror is in great condition. The coarse focusing knobs just turn with no movement of the body tube. In addition, the fine adjustment does not turn at all in either direction. The adjustment knob on the binocular eyepieces works. In addition, one of the two stage mounted knobs, that moves stage in X direction, just turns freely with no movement of the stage, the other knob moves the stage in the X direction just fine. The following inscription appears on the body tube support arm/limb:” POWELL & LEALAND 170 EUSTON ROAD, LONDON.” Inscribed with “1865” beneath fine focusing knob.
