Description

The optical bench is commonly used in physics labs , and consists of a long, rigid member with a linear scale applied to it. Holders for light sources, lenses and screens are placed on the apparatus so that image formation can be observed. A typical nineteenth century optical bench is shown below. The beam is 100 cm ( 40 inches ) long the lenses and other accessories are height adjustable from 26 to 36 cm ( 10 – 14 inches )

In 1898, Arthur went into partnership with his son-in-law, Gaston Massiot, forming “Radiguet & Massiot”
