Compass set into base plate Degree scale and height cardinal points rose highly decorated with floral designs

On the back many latitudes for Europeans cities.

The hour circle hinged to North side of base plate divided clockwise3.45 am – 8.45 pm numbered III-XII,I-VIII

Circular arcs decorated with a wheat sheaf design support the gnomon,Pierced brass gnomon, folding flat when not in use.

Latitude arc hinged to East side of base-plate.
