Description

A very fine veterinary surgical set made in steel and tortoishell by Méricant, datable 1840-1850.

The little folding case bears the initials P.B. It includes a double fleam/lancet cased in tortoishell and retractor with a tortoishell handle, two pliers and a very long seton needle with protective silvered leaf on one side.

All the instruments are signed by Mericant, excepted the little pliers, unsigned.

Rare rich veterinary’s small surgery set.

Case measures 16,5×9,5 closed.
