Description
A good and powerful 2 1/2 inch mahogany barrelled naval telescope whose minimum length is 21 inches and extends to a full 36 inches. Hand held, single draw, 20 X magnification, fine optics and complete. right down to the last screw and pin. Protective slides to both the object and ocular lenses (the object lens having the option of full removal of the protective cap for reduced light viewing at night). Signed at the onset of the single draw in beautiful Georgian script “T. Harris and Son, London, Day or Night”, Thomas Harris began operations with his son at 140 Fleet Street in 1806. The barrel has a few light scratches and dents but nothing to detract from the beautiful woodwork or knurling of the bright brass. The draw is dent free. The object lens is the original green crown glass. This telescope has been well maintained with perfect optics.
