Description

Large, signed J.B. Dancer Microscope with case and accessories.     Microscope is signed “J.B. Dancer, Optician, Manchester” on the ‘Y’ foot.  It is of a double pillar design and has a stage that has two adjustment knobs that are manipulated together to move the stage in a diagonal direction, as well as X-Y direction.  The adjustment knobs work well, and the stage moves smoothly.  The coarse adjustment knobs and fine adjustment knob functions smoothly as well.  The double-sided mirror is in very good condition; however, each mirror has a ‘spider leg’ on the silvering.  The microscope stands 15.5” (39.3 cm) tall with body tube all the way down.  The case dimensions are 16” (40.6 cm) tall, 9.5” (24.1 cm) wide and 8”(20.3 cm) deep.  The case is in very good shape except for a missing drawer pull knob on one of the drawers.  Also, there is a loose piece of wood from inside of the case (shown in one of the pictures) and a few missing pieces out of the outside corners of back of case which are also shown in pictures.  Accessories include bulls eye stand (Lens is missing), two tweezers, 1/4-inch objective in the case.  A 3/4-inch objective is mounted on microscope,1 ½ objective in a case, two eyepieces and a third is mounted in microscope, substage polarizer, eyepiece capped analyzer and a live box.

I am not a business, but an individual that inherited a few hundred antique Microscopes from my Dad who had been collecting for over 20 years. I am keeping a small subset of the collection and will sell the rest.
