Large Double Pillar Cased Microscope “Grand Modele” by Nachet.  C 1870.  There are a few accessories which include a case that has one objective (additional objectives are mounted on Microscope) and two eyepieces (one is mounted on microscope) and one over the eyepiece analyzer.   Unfortunately, the upper body tube of the scope appears to have been polished at some point and so lacquer is not present.   Microscope stands 12.5” (31.75 cm) tall.  Case dimensions are 15” (38.1 cm) tall and 9” (22.8 cm) wide and 6“ (15.24 cm) deep.  This microscope also has the rarer Number 1 stand.   The case also has a key and functioning lock.  Inscription on base is “NACHET ET FILS rue St Severin, Paris”  Additional inscription on body tube is “ENB M13”.  Double sided mirror is in great condition and is housed in an octagonal housing which is unusual.
