Description
Hugh Powell “Transitional” Microscope C. 1835. No case or accessories other than what is on the scope. This microscope is unsigned but typically, Hugh Powell only supplied a trade card glued to the inner door of case and has the features of a Hugh Powell (such as two-piece vertical pillar as illustrated in the included picture of Hugh Powell with one of his microscopes. The coarse and fine focusing mechanisms work well. The Turrell type stage does rotate and move in the X-Y direction although there might be a few teeth that are worn as there is a small distance (Y direction) that the stage has a little difficulty moving through. The single-sided mirror is in fair condition. Microscope stands 19” (48.2 cm) tall.

I am not a business, but an individual that inherited a few hundred antique Microscopes from my Dad who had been collecting for over 20 years. I am keeping a small subset of the collection and will sell the rest.
