Description
Double- pillar compound microscopes are unusual in having the stage suspended between two pillars. One of the pillars contains the rack and pinion focusing mechanism. When the focusing knob is turned, the blackened stage will move up and downwards. Coarse focussing by pushing and pulling. Attached to the tube support is a small gimbaled substage mirror and bullseye condenser for illuminating opaque objects. The original box contains an original pair of tweezers and eight slides French, of which some handwritten. Two objectives are missing. The condition of the microscope is fine, with some spots on the lacquered brass, the optics are working and the rack and pinion works well.
