Description
A fine, brass desktop camera lucida with light reducing aperture and twin light filters/slightly concave lenses (swing in and out of the optical plane by screw and/or bar to bridge). Standing on a solid 5 x 5 cm. brass block, this camera lucida exhibits all of the features of the most advanced model and was patented (unknown maker). Victorian in age, it has a maximum height of 30 cm. and has the usual markings on the extension limb for distances to infinity. The advantages of this form are obvious. One does NOT require a piece of furniture with a ledge to clamp it to and the unit is completely portable and easily manipulated (rotate to capture maximum light). Full 360 degree rotation of the prism head (perfect-no chips) and 180 degree freedom on the arm via a screw to the base. An essential drawing aid for an artist. Minimum height 19 cm.
