Description

A fine 1 3/4 inch OG refractor by Ross c.1830. Early script signature in the Georgian style ” A. Rofs, London”, this four (4) draw telescope has spectacular optics ( at least 20 X magnification). The body is constructed of nickel silver /electrum with a baleen cover (flawless). The draws are nice and tight, extendable sun shade and OG lens cap. The opposite end has a flip type ocular lens cover. Faults: slight dent to sun shade with the same on the body tube i.e. one small dent that is duplicated in both parts and slightly discoloured from usage (sun shade, end cap and ocular cover to first draw). See photos for comparison. Early optical doublet.

Extendable length is 30 inches (75 cm.), closed 8 inches ( 20 cm.) and with removable end cap 2 inches ( 5 cm.) in diameter.
