Description
A good terrestrial globe by Professor Otto Deutsch, produced by the firm of J. Felkl & Sohn working in ” Rostok bei Prag”. Jan Felkl (1817-1887) was one of Europe’s leading globe makers during the last quarter of the 19th century; his son joined the firm in 1870. Otto Delitsch (1821-1882), professor of geography at the University of Leipzig, was a renowned geographer, who had long relationship with the Felkl firm. The globe is in good condition with some staining at the poles and the India has been outlined in red. . It is on turned ebonized wooden base. Height 17″; diameter 8″ both approx.
