Description

An early English brass folding ruler with three different dimensions, Date 1753. In addition, on the folding action of the year 1753 (same engraving as the scale). This can be either a right-angle corner as “triangle” shapes with the legs of the sector. The following three scales are on the ruler:

Side  1: Total length of 12 english thumbs which is a foot (12 thumsbs is 30,5 cm). There is a heart engraved under the number of 12.

Side 2: 96 units over a length of 12 thumbs so each unit is 1/8 inch

Side 3; 12,5 units on the length of 30,5 cm

Probably used by a carpenter.
