Description
This is an early drum microscope at the second adress of Nachet company, “16 rue Serpente” before Camille and Alfred Nachet moved to 17 rue Saint-Séverin in 1863.
The microscope is signed “Nachet et Fils rue Serpente, 16 Paris”.
This microscope is described in the 1856 catalogue as “Microscope petit modèle, monté droit”.
The microscope is finely preserved with its bulleye, its three eyepieces numbered 1, 2 and 3 and four eyepieces its their original case numbered 1, 3, 5 and 9 (noted that the number 1 can be screwed…).
Everything is preserved in its original mahogany case and has a contemporary Swedish provenance glued in the lid of the box “Herr Dr. Med. C. H. Stoltz Gothgatan n° 34”.
C.H Stoltz was a swedish physician active from 1863 to 1881. Born in 1835, Stolz was licensed in 1863, then practicing physician in Stockholm, he died 1881.
Some wooden part inside of the case are unglued. Otherwise the condition is excellent.
