Description
Nose shapers or “Rectificateurs” offered a reasonably priced alternative to those for whom plastic surgery was out of the question because of cost or anxiety over outcome. By donning this device, say before bedtime, and tightening the screws on the portions of the nose deemed in need of reshaping, the desired result could, at least in theory, be achieved. Our example date from the first quarter of the 20th century and is complete with original box and adjusting wrench. Probably made by Trilety in New York State. We’ve included a number of contemporary ads showing this and similar devices.
