Description
We are offering an example of Glover’s Téléstéthoscope Électrique, an early stethoscope that employed electricity and telephone technology. It is mechanically complete but lacks the battery, which was presumably removed because, not surprisingly after a 100 years, it was corroded and leaking. Note low serial number on label that is affixed to front of case. A link to a contemporary article that discusses this instrument is provided below. Case is 27 cm in length. Maker is Fumouze et Cie, working in Paris.
