Description
A hearing trumpet is incorporated at the handle of this wooden walking cane. This acts as an amplifier to direct the sound to the ear through a reversible earpiece worn in the ear. The blackened brass walking stick could be rested on the shoulder of the user with the earpiece positioned in the ear. The hearing trumpet is stamped P.T.G. Other hearing devices designed for concealment were found in umbrellas, fans, chairs, table pieces, wigs and beards.
