Charming Venitian Telescope
Extending from 12″ to 35″ (30-90 cm) through three draw tubes, this telescope is crafted from sturdy card tubes, elegantly wrapped in intricately patterned, brown colored paper.
The fittings are skillfully made from beautifully toned horn.
The main tube is adorned with charming stamped floral designs, adding to its aesthetic appeal.
Featuring a singlet objective and a three-element Schyrle eyepiece system, it produces clear, upright images.
The condition is good.
Venice was an early hub for lens production, and by the late 18th century, it was home to numerous telescope and microscope makers.
