Description

Cased Smith, Beck & Beck Universal Binocular and Monocular Microscope.  This microscope is serial numbered 3842 and this places year of manufacture about 1864.  This Microscope has accessories including several eyepieces, Monocular body tube, three objectives on a spring-loaded nose cone, ABBE condenser, Parabolic Condenser, livebox and camera lucida.  Double sided substage mirrors are in very good condition.  Microscope is signed “Smith Beck & Beck London 3842 Universal Microscope”. The Binocular Body tube is signed “Wenham’s Binocular”.   Binocular focusing works well, as well as, coarse focusing.  Microscope stands about 11.5” (29.2 cm) tall with body tube all the way down to the stage.  Case dimensions are 12.5” (31.7 cm) tall, 6.75” (17.1 cm) wide and 6.5” (16.5 cm) deep.  Case is in very good condition but no key.
