Description
Cased Ed. Messter Microscope. Microscope does not have a serial number, but the case has a serial number of 30821 and so is C 1900. Only accessories, other than what is on microscope appears to be an eyepiece. Unable to get accessory drawer out to get more details since previous owner put a domes screw (non-flush) that prevents drawer from being slid out all the way. Coarse focusing rack has some worn teeth which prevents smooth functioning. Fine focusing does work smoothly. The double-sided mirrors are in very good condition. The turret has three objectives. One labeled 4, one labeled 7 and one labeled 1/12 “. The substage condenser travels vertically but not perfectly smoothly. The front of the body tube has a metal sign that states: “Ed. Messter Berlin, N.W. Friedrichstr. 94 u. 95.” Microscope stands 12” (30.5 cm) tall at minimum height. Case dimensions are 13.25” (33.6 cm) tall, 7” (17.8 cm) wide and 5” (12.7 cm) deep. Case is in good condition except for two cracks at the back of the case running 2/3 down the back of the case, which is shown in one of the images. Cracks do not affect structure rigidity. Case also has key with working lock.
