Cased and Signed “Simplified Achromatic Microscope” by Lerebours et Secretan.   The microscope is dated to between 1845-1855.  The eyepiece is signed:” Lerebours et Secretan A. Paris”.  There are several accessories in the case including a black/white disc, an eyepiece, tweezers, scalpel, two botanical needles, glass slides, glass disc that is concave on one side and is for observation of small objects in water, and a prismatic setting, which will transform the microscope into a horizontal microscope.  The focusing is accomplished by rack and pinion system and does work well.  The double-sided mirror is in very good condition as is the condenser that is mounted on an articulating arm.   The microscope stands 8.5” (21.6 cm) tall at minimum height.   Case dimensions are 11.25” (28.6 cm) long, 7” (17.8 cm) wide and 4” (10.1 cm) deep.
