Description

Cased and Signed J. Zentmayer Microscope with Continental Stand V.   The microscope is C. 1895.  The Accessories that are stored in the case include” black empty cases marked “4 mm B.&L.O.CO” and “16mm B.&L.O.CO” that are stored in one drawer and the other drawer contains two objective storage cases.  One case has an objective inside.  That case is marked “BAUSCH & LOMB OPTICAL CO 1/12 ROCHESTER, N.Y. NEW YORK CITY”.  The other objective case is empty and is marked “1.9 mm B.&L.O. Co”.  The back of the base behind the pillar is signed “J. ZENTMAYER PHILA”.  Coarse and fine focusing work smoothly.  There is a substage mounted Abbe Condenser but no substage mirror. There is a rotating objective turret that contains two unmarked objectives.   Case and drawers are in good condition and top of the case has a plaque that is marked “THE SCHUMANN-JONES CO. SURGICAL SUPPLIES CLEVELAND, OHIO.” The microscope stands 12” (30.5 cm) tall at minimum height.   The case dimensions are:  14”(35.5 cm) tall, 6.25” (15.9 cm) wide and 8” (20.3 cm) deep.
