Cased and Signed E.H. Griffith “Club” Microscope.  C. late 1800’s.   The base of the microscope is signed “E.H. GRIFFITH FAIRPORT, N.Y.”.  This microscope has several accessories including a Cased Objective marked “BAUSCH & LOMB OPTICAL CO.  1 IN”, an empty objective case marked “1/6”, and some other accessories I am not familiar with, but are shown in attached images.   The double-sided mirrors are in poor condition.  The coarse focusing is achieved using rack and pinion setup, but some of the teeth appear to be stripped and the coarse focusing only partially works.   The fine focusing knob turns in both directions but no movement is noticed.   The objective mounted on the microscope is marked “Ernst Gundlach 1/6” The case is leather, or leatherette covered and in fair condition.  The velour/felt lining pad on the inside of the lid does not stay attached to the lid and frequently falls into bottom of case.   The top of the case lid handle has a partial signature and appears to say” GRIFFITH CLUB MICROSCOPE E.H. GRIFFITH, FAIRPORT, N.Y.”  Microscope stands 11.25” (28.57 cm) tall.   Case dimensions are 8.25” (20.9 cm) long, 6.5” (16.5 cm) wide and 3.5” (8.9 cm) deep.
