Description
Brass Simple and Compound Compendium microscope by Kruines of Paris, C 1810 with Case. Case contains remnants of the trade card with Kruines legible, but the rest of the trade card is barely legible. The pictures show that this item can be either a compound or simple microscope by changing out the limb containing the compound body tube with the other John Ellis style Limb. In either configuration, the limbs provide “aquatic movement”. In other words, eyepiece moves forward and aft as well as left and right. This microscope appears to be, like many antique French microscopes, never lacquered. The wood case has two eye hooks and opens with a pushbutton and not a key. The microscope stands about 13 inches tall (33 cm) with body tube attached. The case is a square with each side approximately 9 ½ inches (24.1 cm) and approximately 3.5 inches high (8.9 cm). Accessories are a few objective lenses. Both sides of the double-sided mirror are only in fair condition.

I am not a business, but an individual that inherited a few hundred antique Microscopes from my Dad who had been collecting for over 20 years. I am keeping a small subset of the collection and will sell the rest.
