Description
An early 18th century brass folding square by Butterfield, Paris. Signed by Butterfield À Paris and engraved over one side with different scales entitled 4 Pouces De France / 5 Pouces Du Vin, hinged at centre with plumb-bob string hole and cut-away cavity 11.5cm folded. This one is shorter (11,5 cm) than the regular folding squares which are normaly 17 cm long.
