Description

Offered for sale is a fully mechanical specimen stage that fits the W Watson & Sons Ltd Van Heurck microscope.  It’s supplied with three fixing screws and the fit dimensions are ~62mm and 93mm in terms of spacing as shown in the listing photo stream.

The stage has x and y-axis adjustments giving 1 inch of travel along each axis, with smooth movement allowing accurate control of specimen position.  The stage also rotates requiring only light manual pressure to move and it can be locked into position with a thumb-screw that’s located underneath.  There’s a slide holder mechanism comprising a dovetail slider with two brass clips.  The slider can also be locked in position via a vertical thumb-screw.  There’s also a slide ejection mechanism comprising a second thumb-screw on the left-hand side of the slider, which is a useful additional feature.  As is normal with Watson mechanical stages of this age, the stage aperture is quite wide which helps facilitate careful positioning of the objective for high magnification/very close working distance applications.

All in all a rare opportunity to acquire a rotating mechanical stage for a top-line Watson Van Heurck microscope.
