Description

A very early small dental surgery in its contemporary case in grainy and stamped black leather.

The handle is of high quality: superbly constructed in turned steel. The set preserves 5 (out of 7) of the dental surgery instruments that the box contained, all contemporary and screwing perfectly to the handle.

This set is certainly French, dating from the late 16th century or circa 1600.

The case is also of high quality constructed, it seems, entirely of leather and not leather covered cardboard.

Rare set of small surgeries, very early.

The box measures 6.5cmx2cm; the handle 6cm and a mounted instrument 11cm.
