Description
A rare and early example of an horseshoe artificial magnet entirely mounted in brass as a lodestone.
The instrument is not signed but French, 18th century, certainly circa 1750-1770.
This is magnet measures 12,3cm height (+ the ring) so 16,5cm with the suspension right and bottom part. 5,3 cm width.
This kind of horseshoe magnet are rarelly entirely mounted in brass.
The magnet keep a powerfull magnetism.
Genuine condition with nice patine.
