Description
A fine and a little large veterinary surgery roll, complete, dating from around 1800-1830.
The red morocco roll is decorated with golden wheels and lined with green morocco, complete with its seven strips of fabric and silk.
Despite some traces of uses and oxidation on some of the instruments, beautiful and rare condition for this complete kit from the Napoleonic period or slightly later.
A scalpel signed Charrière seems later otherwise the whole is period and homogeneous, unsigned.
The owner’s name has been erased but we can still make out: “Lambert veterinaire”.
Finally, the label of a French portfolio seller established in Milan inside the roll: “Dumont attievo di Parigi fabbrica sorte du Portafogli da viaggio altri da tasca[…] Milano”
Size of closed roll 20×10.5×5.5cm.
Rare in such condition.
