Description

A fine Jobert de Lamballe-type vaginal depressor with ebony handle and steel blade with a special curved end. France, unsigned, circa 1850-1860.

The instrument was used for depression of the vagina during hysterectomy.

17 cm height and 10cm lenght of the blade.
