Description

A good wooden Nuremberg microscope of the rarer shape “a chapelle”.

Late 18th-early 19th century

 

Dimension: 21,5cm (8 ½”) close; 28cm (11”) extended.

 

This microscope is made entirely in wood with the exception of the body tube, draw-tube and eyepiece which are cardboard covered with paper and capped with wooden rings.

Screwed eye-cap and objective screwed cover are present.

It has an eye lens, field lens and objective.

 

It comes together a wooden slide with 3 preparates.

 

Rare model of the famous wooden Nuremberg microscope toys, manufactured during the turn of the 18th and 19 century in Southern Germany.

More uncommon than the other, Culpeper-type, model, always in wood.
