Description

A very good example of a simple dissecting microscope signed “Nachet et fils 17, rue St Séverin Paris”. This model was introduced in the 1863 Nachet catalogue, number 26 (illustration 24) described as “Microscope simple de dissection”. It was illustrated until the Nachet catalogue 1886 and in 1889 the Nachet’s company was name only “A. Nachet” and the round foot was changed by a new foot in the 1892 catalogue. So we can date the instrument between 1863 and the late 1880.

The present model preserves its two handrests and one doublet. Everything is preserved in its original mahogany case. The microscope is fine and working condition.

The microscope measures around 15cm height, the case measures 10x14x19cm.
