Description

An unusual eample of Storer’s patent perpetual fountain in plated metal, Marked in the centre ‘Storer’s Patent.’ J. Storer patented the fountain 7 February 1876, and it is based on Hero’s fountain invented in 1st century by Hero of Alexandria. It is in good condition but missing the top bowl to catch the water as it sprays out. See Christies Auction 27/11/1997 sold for £2990, and Bonhams Auction 30/4/2013 sold for £2500
