Description
An intriguing and splendid piece of high quality steel datable from the second half of the 18th century preserved in its shaped case made in green morocco with small gilded decoration.
The long piece of steel measures 25,5cm lenght, 6-12mm diameter.
Even if we cannot find another similar artefact this steel rod remember some Faraday or Galvani experimental steel.
We can suppose this very finely build piece of steel was used for experimental physics in magnetism or electricity, or maybe in animal magnetisem following Mesmer experiments or in general physics.
The luxuous case indicates clearly that the object should of great value and need to be well preserved.
The top part of the case is missing otherwise the condition is excellent. Some ink annotation on the case impossible to read.
