Description

Interesting 8 Geissler tubes with special form in its original case

The Geissler tube is a glass tube invented by the German physicist (and glassblower) Heinrich Geissler in 1857, designed to visually demonstrate the principles of luminous discharge (non-magnetized plasma).

Geissler tubes (the first gas discharge tubes) had a significant impact on the development of numerous instruments and devices that rely on electrical discharge through gases.

The glass cylinder, partially evacuated, is sealed on each side around a metal electrode at each end (cathode and anode).

4 tubes are in perfect condition and 4 others have just a small defect in the cathode.
