Description

A wonderful set of Victorian, glass magic lantern slides on the subject of astronomy in dovetailed mahogany case plus an additional part set in stained pine case. 50 in total. HEAVY  for postal consideration.

Measuring 8 x 8 cm. square, the slides are in good condition. The  black and white photos covering a range of subject matter including telescopes, observatories, tides, constellations,  cycles, comets and seasons. 24 in total and housed in the original flame mahogany box with lock (no key) with slots to keep them separated. The box measures 19 x 14 x 10 cm. deep. English paper titles to borders on most with a couple in French (some paper losses). No cracks or chips. Some more interesting than others but a nice collection.
