Description
A fine, untouched simple transit/drainage level in its original 18th century sharkskin case. Although unsigned, it is of the highest quality and exhibits some unusual features from other examples that I have by Adams and Bleuler. 10 inches in length and 1 inch in diameter, its spirit level below the body tube is intact. Perfect inverted optics with cross hairs intact. Separate sun shade sits on a wooden post in the case. Fine oblique knurling, 90% original laquer intact, no external damages. Mounting bracket for a tripod head (no space in the box for said mount), levelling screw and articulating arm to adjust for height/elevation. Draw tube focussing. Fine sharkskin case of irregular shape with 2 of 3 ornate, brass hooks intact. Green baise/velvet liner. Hinges intact. c.1750.
