This passion has turned into a profession that leads me every day in search of ancient instruments that helped us to observe, measure, explore and know the sky and the earth. Paul Hamilton My trade in scientific instruments commenced in 1970 when, as a fine art student, I purchased my first antique microscope - a Swift Challenge - and that was it - Hooked! Formerly based in King's Road, London for 30 years, the internet enabled the great escape to the countryside and I now live in Norfolk. It is futile to contemplate on the countless fine instruments that have passed through my hands during nearly 40 years. My customers include distinguished museums - respected collectors - fellow dealers internationally. |

Stuart Johnson Antiques Located on the island city of Alameda in the San Francisco Bay. My life as a collector began over 25 years ago, when on a whim I stopped at a yard sale and happened upon an old ship's compass. I was instantly attracted to the brass, glass and mahogany, as well as the engineering involved in its construction. That interest led me to basements, attics, and long hours sitting at auctions. I'm delighted to be included in the Fleaglass site and will try to present an ongoing offering of science, maritime and technical items of interest. Thank you and enjoy. |
